Meet the Tweedles
Ellie & Lindsey are 2 independant & sarcastic women always looking for the next adventure! We were able to go to Ecuador on a Humanitarian Aid trip with a non-profit organization and 67 other volunteers. We served over 3000 Ecuatorians in 10 days by offering free medical & dental work, perscription eye glasses, immunizations, and construction work. It was an amazing experience and we wanted to share it with you, so we hope you enjoy!

The good, the bad & the ugly
- Ecuadorian food consists mostly of soups & stews, corn, potatoes, rice & meat (chicken, beef, guinea pig & seafood).
- The marketplace on Saturdays in Otavalo is the biggest market in all of South America!
- There is an animal market in Otavalo on Sat early in the mornings, where you can buy puppies for as little as $2
- Spanish is the primary language, but the indiginous Indians in Otavalo & other regions also speak Quichua
- You don't need an adapter in Ecuador. They use 120 volt 2 prong electical plugs, like the US
- Guinea pig is a delicacy, and they call it Cuy. We were offered some, but didn't try it
- Ecuador has the highest density of active volcanoes in the world
- Don't even think of drinking the water!
- Driving is a suicide attempt - we left that to our crazy bus drivers
- Ecuador uses the US dollar as their primary currency
- You can't flush toilet paper in Ecuador. You just throw it away
